Jio Recharge Plans – Reliance Jio has launched two new prepaid recharge plans that don’t include any data but are great for users who mainly use their phones for calls and SMS. These plans were introduced following the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) guidelines, which asked telecom companies to provide cheaper plans focusing on voice and messaging services.
Details of the Rs 458 Plan
The first plan costs Rs 458 and comes with a validity of 84 days. This plan offers unlimited voice calling and 1000 free SMS messages. Users also get free access to Jio’s entertainment apps like JioCinema and Jio TV. Additionally, the plan includes free national roaming anywhere in India. Priced at around Rs 5 per day, this plan is perfect for those who primarily use their phones for calls and texts and don’t require mobile data.
Details of the Rs 1958 Yearly Plan
The second plan is priced at Rs 1958 and offers a full 365 days of validity. Like the Rs 458 plan, it provides unlimited voice calls but comes with 3600 free SMS messages. Free access to JioCinema and Jio TV is also included. This plan is ideal for users who want to avoid frequent recharges and prefer a hassle-free yearly plan. At roughly Rs 5 per day or Rs 155 per month, this plan offers excellent value for money.
Discontinuation of Older Plans
With these new launches, Jio has discontinued two older plans — the Rs 479 plan, which offered 6GB of data for 84 days, and the Rs 1899 plan, which provided 24GB of data for 336 days. The focus now is on plans without data, catering to users who only need voice and SMS services.
Who Will Benefit the Most?
These new voice-only plans are especially beneficial for senior citizens, basic phone users, and feature phone owners who don’t need mobile data but want affordable and reliable calling options. They also offer relief from the hassle of frequent recharges, making them convenient for those who prefer simplicity and cost-effectiveness. The free national roaming feature adds value for users who travel frequently within India.
Overall, Jio’s new no-data plans provide an affordable, hassle-free solution for users who mainly use their phones for calls and SMS. Whether you want a short-term plan or a year-long option, these plans simplify mobile usage and offer great value, especially for users who don’t rely on mobile internet.
